SB Susan B Anthony

Wikipedia is the shit. Before researching this blog, I thought Susan B Anthony was the 1st woman to vote and that's why she got a coin named after her that nobody used. Man I was wrong. Susan went through mad shit in her life.

  • She actually died 14 years before passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.

  • She was a prominent American civil rights leader who played a pivotal role in the 19th century women's rights movement to introduce women's suffrage into the United States.

  • Incredibly she was arrested by a U.S. Deputy Marshal for voting illegally in the 1872 Presidential Election. She was "drum head"style convicted and given a $100 fine, but not jail time. At her bullshit verdict she stated "I shall never pay a dollar of your unjust penalty", and she never paid the fine for the rest of her life, and an embarrassed U.S. Government took no collection action against her. That trial backfired on the US as Susan's courage and belief in her rights only grew stronger.
